Kids Joke : Teacher And Student

In a Class a little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though a whale is a very large mammal, its throat is very small. The little girl stated that Jhony was swallowed by a whale. The teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human, it was impossible. The little girl said, “When I get to heaven I will ask Jhony”.
The teacher asked, “What if Jhony went to hell?” The little girl replied, “Then you ask him!”

Heat Safety Tips for Children

It is very important to take extra precautions during summer hot days.  Below are some tips to help keep kids and adults safe.
Infants and young children are sensitive to the effects of high temperatures and rely on others to regulate their environments and provide adequate liquids. Children are more susceptible to heat stress than adults for a number of reasons:
·        Children don't have as much ability to sweat, to dispel heat
·        Children begin sweating only when their body reaches a higher temperature
·        Sunlight hits children more than adults, proportionately: Children have larger heads in proportion to their bodies, and more surface area in proportion to body mass.
·        Children don't know or understand the symptoms of heat stress, and will play to the point of exhaustion
·        Thirst is not an accurate measure of how much fluid a person needs, and children rarely know how much fluids they need
To avoid dehydration and other effects of the heat, experts recommend:
·        Avoid hot foods and heavy meals—they add heat to your body.
·        Drink plenty of fluids and replace salts and minerals in your body. Do not take salt tablets unless under medical supervision. Have them drink a glass of water one to two hours before going out, and another glass 10 to 15 minutes before going outside to play
·        Encourage children to drink regularly, every 20 to 30 minutes; have them drink until they're not thirsty, and then another half glass
·        Plan early morning play. Limit outdoors playtime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., when the sun is at its peak
Dress children in loose-fitting, light-colored clothing made from natural fibers, which "breathe" better than synthetic fibers and shade their heads and faces with hats or an umbrella.
·        Even in cool temperatures, cars can heat up to dangerous temperatures very quickly. So it is advised Never leave a child unattended in a parked car, even with the windows down.

Making your own BABY FOOD.

Baby food doesn't have to come in jars. You can make your own at home, and it's not difficult. Making your own baby food is easy, efficient, and economical. Instead of spending money on prepackaged baby food, you can use fresh produce, grains, and meat that you have on hand. Best of all, you'll know exactly what you're feeding your baby. Three good reasons for making your own baby food are:
  • You know what's in it.
  • You know that the ingredients are fresh and healthy.
  • You can custom-tailor the texture to your baby's taste preferences.
  • You can shape your baby's tastes and help her learn what fresh foods taste like.
  • You will save money. These homemade baby food recipes cost a fraction of the price of readymade foods.
  • And most importantly, making your own baby food is tremendously satisfying for you and your baby.
TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR OWN BABY FOOD
  • Buy organic fruits and vegetables. Your baby deserves pesticide-free foods. Scrub fruits and vegetables extra well with a vegetable brush. Trim stringy parts and remove any part of the food that could cause choking, such as pits, peels, and seeds. Trim excess fat off poultry and meat.
  • Steam vegetables. This softens them, makes them easier to chew, and preserves more of the vitamins and minerals than boiling.
  • No need to add salt or sugar. Try a bit of lemon juice as both a preservative and a natural flavor enhancer.
  • Avoid deep-frying, which adds unhealthy fats to foods.
  • Don't feel you have to prepare separate meals for your baby. You can simply take portions of your adult food (before you add any strong seasonings) and grind or mash to a stage appropriate for your baby.
  • Make enough for several meals at a time and pour the freshly-cooked and pureed food into an ice cube tray. Cover with cellophane wrap and freeze. Then, remove the frozen food cubes from the tray and store in air-tight freezer bags. Remove one serving-size cube at a time when needed.
  • When baby graduates from cube-size portions, store the homemade food in recycled commercial baby food jars or small, plastic, freezer containers. Be sure not to fill the jars to the brim, as food expands as it freezes.
  • Label all your freezer packages with contents and date and rotate stock like the supermarket does – putting the most recently frozen foods behind the previously frozen ones. Homemade baby foods can be safely kept frozen for three months.
  • For slow thawing, place a day's worth of baby food in the refrigerator. It will thaw in about four hours. For fast thawing, use an electric warming dish or place a heat-safe dish over water in a small saucepan and heat gently.
  • If you use a microwave to thaw or warm baby food, be sure to stir the food well to avoid hot pockets.
  • No matter what method of heating and thawing you use, stir the food well and test it with your finger to be sure it's not too hot.
  • To avoid wasting your carefully prepared cuisine, dole out small portions. Gradually add more, using a clean spoon as needed.
Always consult your pediatrician prior to beginning any new food for your infant. Discuss making homemade baby food with your pediatrician regarding what foods to introduce to baby and when.
